Worker Power and Racial Justice: A Panel on the Intersection of the Labor Movement, Black Lives Matter, and Mutual Aid
Tompkins County has done an extraordinary job combining the work of racial, social, and worker justice outside of the existing system. The purpose of this webinar is to discuss the power of the partnership between mutual aid and labor. It will demonstrate how groups are already working outside of existing political systems can sustain meaningful change. Darlene Lombos from the Greater Boston Labor Council will speak about the experience of community organizations and unions in the Boston area since the Covid crisis began, followed by comments from Russell Rickford (Black Lives Matter), Shannon Gleeson (Tompkins County Immigrant Rights Coalition), and Ada Fuentes (Jobs with Justice).
