Using long-term monitoring of garlic mustard populations from the Atlantic Coast to the Mississippi River, a group of scientists and land managers has determined, that negative soil feedback reduces vigor and populations of this biennial plant. Land managers should stop interfering with this process to achieve maximum suppression. Similar effects of biotic resistance may be playing out for other introduced species.
