Young Alumni Series with Alex Iglesias, PAM ’17, Honors Paralegal at the Federal Trade Commission
Join us for our continued series of young alumni discussing career exploration and professional transition. This will be an informal conversation with '17 PAM alum, Alex Iglesias.

Alex Iglesias is an Information Technology Specialist at the Federal Trade Commission working in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection of the Bureau of Consumer Protection. The Division of Privacy and Identity Protection oversees issues related to consumer privacy, credit reporting, identity theft, and information security; and enforces the statutes and rules within its jurisdiction. Alex started at the FTC in 2017 as an Honors Paralegal in the Office of the Executive Director predominantly working on IT initiatives. He was a transfer student to Cornell’s College of Human Ecology and received a bachelor’s degree in Policy Analysis and Management in 2017.

Alex will focus his remarks around topics including:

•Recommendations for gaining experience in your field of interest before graduating
•Successfully networking
•How his CHE education distinguished/added value to his job and graduate school search
•Determining whether or not graduate school or the world of work was the right next step
•Recommendations for holding personal values and the Human Ecology education while pursuing work in a meaningful way
•Provide advice he wishes someone had given to him upon graduation
•Recommendations for finding, cultivating and best working with mentors.
